Abstract

A partir de reflexão sobre o uso de informações colhidas em fontes primárias, o texto estuda o cinema Triângulo, de São Paulo, que funcionou de 1923 a 1929. Um breve histórico da sala e suas instalações introduz o levantamento da questão principal: o uso da música ao vivo no espetáculo cinematográfico brasileiro, a constituição das orquestras, a adequação do repertório, o uso de vitrolas nas salas. Elementos indissociáveis nas informações recolhidas, são também abordados alguns aspectos relativos ao comércio cinematográfico e à presença do cinema nas publicações periódicas da época.
