Abstract

Percebemos nos textos de críticos portugueses sobre Central do Brasil, publicados no final da década de 90, uma preocupação demasiada em analisar filmes brasileiros à luz de referenciais que remetem aos anos 60, isto é, ao movimento do Cinema Novo. A crítica colou seu discurso a um período (anos 60-70), quando as estéticas cinematográficas consagradas historicamente tornaram-se modelos de qualidade e de contestação às grandes produções, sobretudo hollywoodianas. Outra questão observada diz respeito às frequentes remissões aos novos filmes comparados às telenovelas brasileiras exibidas em Portugal.
