Abstract

Críticos, cineastas e acadêmicos fazem incontáveis referências ao livro Casa-grande & Senzalaao comentarem filmes como O som ao redor, Doméstica, Que horas ela volta?e Aquarius. Entretanto, a maioria dessas alusões não condiz com a perspectiva de Gilberto Freyre, e tampouco leva em conta aquilo que distancia os filmes do pensamento do sociólogo. Restringindo-se à esfera do conteúdo, tais aproximações deixam inexploradas uma vasta gama de correspondências possíveis.
