Abstract

Através da análise de duas figuras arquetípicas das narrativas cinematográficas é que se desenvolve esse artigo, estabelecendo um paralelo entre os personagens do cowboy e do detetive. Essa relação, e a observação do significado de tais personagens no período específico de seu surgimento, podem nos ajudar a melhor compreender a ideia da ordem urbana como elemento essencial ao convívio social. Essa ideia foi construída em determinado período tendo, dentre outras linguagens, o cinema como coadjuvante. Ao nos determos no papel simbólico representado por esses personagens, bem como na função que essas tipologias fílmicas - o faroeste e o romance noir - apresentam como auxiliares à constituição de um imaginário, o que fica clara é a importância desempenhada pelas narrativas cinematográficas no engendramento do tecido social que nos rodeia.
