Bertrand Bonello constrói o filme Saint Laurent (2014) a partir de uma lógica de inspiração intermidiática pautada no trânsito entre várias esferas (ficção e não ficção, arte e cultura de massas, masculino e feminino) e diversas mídias (vídeo, fotografia, pintura, desenho e ópera), trazendo em termos de sintaxe plástica fílmica, a inovação cultural desencadeada pelo estilista e reconstruindo, pelo olhar poético do cineasta, a importância de Yves Saint Laurent no contexto da cultura midiática. Pautamo-nos sobretudo pelos estudos de Gumbrecht, Müller, Rajewsky e Benjamin.
